About the artist
Spoons is a Canadian New Wave / Synthpop music group who formed in 1979 and were popular in the early 1980s. In 1983, they were nominated for "Most Promising Group of the Year" at the Juno Awards and won "Group of the Year" at the same year's U-Know awards (the forerunner of the CASBYs - Canadian Artists Selected By You). The band, from Burlington, Ontario, consisted of Gordon Deppe (vocals and guitar), Sandy Horne (vocals and bass), Rob Preuss (keyboards and piano) and Derrick Ross (drums). Preuss also replaced Brett Wickens in 1980.
