Music discovery, at your own pace.

Music for Babysharks is an independent project created by Scott Stadum. Start with a performer you already like, explore related musicians, listen to songs, and find places to buy music or see an artist live.

Why it exists

The project began with a simple idea: let people follow their own curiosity from one artist to another. The explorer keeps that journey in your hands; dedicated artist pages bring listening, background, stories and shopping together.

Where the information comes from

Artist biographies, popularity rankings, tags and related artists come from Last.fm . YouTube supplies playback. Artist photographs come from Wikimedia Commons with a visible credit and license. Stores handle availability, prices and purchases.

Keep a listening history with Web Scrobbler

Found a song you want to remember? Web Scrobbler is a community-built browser extension that records songs you play on supported websites in your Last.fm profile. These listening records are called “scrobbles.” They give you a history of what you heard, help you rediscover favorites, and contribute to your listening statistics and recommendations. Saving a song in Babysharks bookmarks it on this device; scrobbling records what you actually listen to in your music profile.

  1. Install Web Scrobbler in desktop Chrome using the link below.
  2. Open the extension’s settings and connect your Last.fm account.
  3. Play a song on a supported website, such as YouTube, and check the extension’s status to confirm it recognizes the artist and song.

Babysharks does not scrobble automatically, and compatibility with our embedded player has not been verified. Open a video on YouTube itself and check the extension there. The Chrome link is intended for desktop Chrome; availability on other browsers and mobile devices varies.

This is an optional third-party tool, not a paid referral. You connect your account with the extension; Babysharks does not receive those credentials. The download link uses Alameda Marketing’s short-link service to measure clicks, not installs or listening activity. About link measurement.
