Shena!
About the artist
Music has always been a family affair for Shena! Her grandfather, Elijah Mondy, Sr., was a member of the Arkansas-based quartet, Southern Echoes. Later, he formed the Golden Suns in Chicago and then the Mondy Trio, which included her mother and aunt. The trio performed on the Bill Dock Lee Radio Show, a gospel staple that highlighted prominent Chicago performers such as the Staple Singers, Barrett Sisters, and the Hutchinson Sunbeams, who later changed their name to the Emotions.
