About the artist
Helen 55 formed in California’s North Hollywood Arts District, in 1997. Their first release, a 3-song cassette featuring “Dumb Summer”, gained them fans worldwide via internet tape trading. The group quickly established themselves, performing regularly at venues like The Whisky a Go-Go and The Roxy Theatre, with notable acts such as System of a Down, Papa Roach, Thrice, and many more. By Jan 2000, the group enlisted a new drummer and self-released their first CD, “Amped”.
