Elder Curry

About the artist

Ascending from the always frantic and joyous spirit throngs of late 1930's Gospel, Elder Curry and his stompin', shakin and screamin gospel accompaniment can be found on various compilations, including the Casequarter records release, "I got Two Wings- Elder Utah Smith and Cogic Freinds" as well as the death ballads from the triple disc compilation "People Take Warning." Elder Curry offers up a darkened strickly babptist form of pre war blues that is often accompanied by restless clapping
