Craig Douglas was the stage name of English rock and roll and pop singer Terence Perkins (born on 13 August 1941; died 4 September 2026) remembered for being popular in the late 1950s and early 1960s and for his sole UK chart-topper in 1959, "Only Sixteen" (which outsold Sam Cooke's original in the UK). England during the late '50s had its equivalents to Frankie Avalon and Fabian, teenage boy singers whose sounds were specifically tailored to appeal to the most romantic sides of the young female psyche and not offend their parents.
