Canadia

About the artist

Busing into town from Auckland, New Zealand’s central suburbs (one stage, please), Canadia traded copies of the 2008 EP One Dog Clapping for support slots and samosas. The band’s latest release, Beg Steal and Burrow, casts off the bedroom claustrophobia and replaces it with a warm back shed sing-along. Mixing country guitars with swells of baroque piano and layers of singer Ashley Noel Hinton’s harmonies, Canadia creates energetic drama pop evocative of its indie and alt-country heroes.
