Atunga

About the artist

In the summer of 1990, guitarist Scott Phipps and drummer Steve Schuman, formerly of Axis, gave flamboyant singer Gregory Paul Cherone an opportunity to front their hard rock band. With the addition of bass player, Derek Avery, and a revamped determination, the dye was cast. They borrowed a name that belonged to an exotic dancer from Rio de Janiero and called themselves, Atunga. Their music was noisy, rhythmic, and laden with catchy hooks that soaked into your brain until you became a believer.
